We went to settlement on our renovation project December 5th. Here we are more than two months later and finally wrapping up our floor plans. If you ever meet our architect, tell him we said he's the most patient person we've ever met. We handed him 4 walls, tons of windows, and nothing else and asked him to make us a house. Oh and we added a wish list:
Great Room/Open Concept
Desk in Great Room (I want to be able to edit while my family hangs out)
Eat in kitchen island
Walk in pantry
First Floor laundry (I Know I'm in the minority on this one but if my laundry was on the second floor it would NEVER get done)
Multipurpose Room (AKA Playroom)
First floor shower for anyone that sleeps in the multipurpose room
A master bedroom that's not too small and not too big
A master bath with dual vanities, a stand alone tub, a water closet, and access to the closet
A walk in master closet
Dual Vanity in the kid's bath
A bench for new moms to rest while they head upstairs to the PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO (YIPEEEEE)
A photography Studio
A guest bedroom
A bathroom that's accessible to photography clients
Then we asked him to cram it all in to a 30x40 rectangle. He's a SAINT.
So, here they are the *almost final floor plans and elevations.
FIRST FLOOR. We'll park at the right end of the house and come in through the mudroom. Guests will park and come in through the front door. Need some minor changes, maybe a deeper pantry, and the bathtub will be a shower instead. Also, the island will be rectangular instead of rounded so there's more room to sit.
