Just after my daughter was born I decided to teach myself how to knit. I watched you tube videos, checked out library books, and dove head first into knitting hats. I even opened an etsy store which has gone dormant for time being. I knew then that I eventually wanted to knit stockings for my family but I knew it was a pretty big committment. Last year, as my second and final baby was due, I knew it was time to start working on them. He arrived in November and took over our world so the stockings had to wait.
So, here we are a year later and it's finally time to buckle down. This is my first sock, my first stocking, and my first try at knitting a Fair Isle pattern. More you tube videos and I think I've got it under control:
I walked in from work last week to find my little man zonked out on daddy. We both know these days are numbered so when we have a chance to snuggle our little man, we don't hesitate. We hunker down and enjoy the sweetness.
Here's a before & after of my girl dancing barefoot in the grass.
I call this next one "The Flight of the Ellie". Both of my kids have a small elephant blanket. Actually, they have 3. When my daughter was little we got duplicates. Shortly after I realized how prized they were, I bought another "Just in case." So, when I found an identical blue Ellie while expecting my son, I didn't hesitate to buy 3. One for home, one for school, and a rotating one for the wash!
Both kids eventually reached an "empty my crib" phase where they'd wake up, and everything in the crib suddenly ends up on the floor. I LOVE that I was able to catch him doing this.
My little guy is turning one. I can't believe it. I am a HUGE sucker for paper goods. You would think I'd be hallmarks best customer but alas, I am TERRIBLE about actually mailing anything. Bday invites though....bday invites and xmas cards are an absolute must in my house.
